Did you know that even if you have a disability which requires high care needs, you can still live an independent and fulfilling life?

No one should ever have to give up on their independence and will to live a fruitful life as long as you know you will be supported with your day-to-day needs.

This is what Supported Independent Living aims to achieve – quality, safety and independence in your life.

What is Supported Independent Living (or SIL)?

Simply put, SIL, as defined by NDIS, is help and/or supervision of your daily life tasks that allows you to live as independent as possible.

There are many forms of support with SIL, for example:

  • First and most importantly, you will learn and appreciate the joy of daily living skills, such as; cooking, cleaning, shopping and even how to handle money – skills that many of us take for granted.

  • You’ll have the chance to participate in the local community – which brings along with it a sense of belonging.

  • You’ll even have the opportunity to develop new interests and skills – it’s never too late!

  • And finally, you can enjoy your leisure time at your own pace.
